  1. You will find that most BBS systems' file directories are comprised almost
  2. entirely of files that have passed through the arc utility and therefore
  3. have the ".ARC" extension. This allows the sysop to get as many files as
  4. possible on the system at one time. In order to help the sysop with this
  5. task, it is recommended that you arc any and all files prior to uploading
  6. them to a BBS. (In some instances the sysop has configured his/her system
  7. to allow only files with the .arc extension to be received.
